O Lord, drive away the darkness from the mind with the wisdom of your light.
May the beginning of the sun’s passage through the sky mark the beginning of the working-day for us mortals; who are walking towards the heart of Jesus, joyfully and full of praise.
Grant that we may have within us this light, the life of the resurrection, and that nothing may take away our delight in You. With the movement and the course of the sun, our day begins by keeping our minds fixed on you.
Give us the grace we need to bring bread and fish to you. For what is ours that is not already Yours. It is you where goodness and strength springs forth.
Be the wings for our thoughts, O Lord, and may You be our all, the way and the end to it. (St. Ephrem x seed)
